Short article explaining how the Glasgow Horse and Motormens Union bestowed anilluminated address upon Mr Pickard and gave his wife a gold bracelet, for the services he provided the city carters with during their strike. The article explains how Pickard allowed the strikers to use the Panopticon for meetings as well as providing them with entertainment on such occasions. This article could be seen as evidence of the good reputation Pickard seemed to enjoy with the working classes of Glasgow during this period.
